Record Revival — on a Technics SL-1200MK2

About

What Record Revival Is

Record Revival is a monthly night built entirely around wax. No laptops, no sync button, no digital crutch. Just turntables, needles, and whatever's been pulled from the crates that week.

It started as a small gathering for people who still buy records: the ones who flip through dollar bins for a mispressed soul 45, who care what's etched in the deadwax, who'd rather hear a needle catch a pop than listen to a perfect digital rip. Every first Friday, that crowd finds its way to The Speakeasy Lounge.

Vinyl only. Mono pressings welcome. Dancing encouraged.

Sign-ups start at 7:30, the first needle drops at 8:00, and anyone willing to bring their own records gets a slot on the decks. No lineup printed in advance, no genre off-limits: whatever's in your crate earns its spot that night. The room runs warm, the drinks run proper, and the night runs until midnight on analog time.

Whether you've been digging since the first pressing or you just bought your first turntable last week, Record Revival is built for anyone who wants to hear a room full of speakers move the way they were meant to: through wax, not a file.

Support

Chip In

Record Revival doesn't turn a profit. It's run strictly for fun, by people who'd be doing this with or without an audience. Every dollar from the tip jar goes straight back into the night: gear, keeping the site and mixes online, and bringing in guest DJs and artists down the road.
